Play Mario Kart 8 a bit lately along with The Binding of Isaac. Can't wait for the remake to come out.

Got back into minecraft with Varius who used to post on the boards here (and lived in my hometown with me) for a while, but we've been lately busy so haven't done that in a while.

I quit with Skyrim, had a mod installed and it ruined the MainQuest. :(

So now i'm playing Oblivion/Skyrim with bullets again: Fallout New Vegas.

I really need ti get down to playing that. I've only played it a bit, but should invest some more time in it. Then again, I'm saying that about a lot of games... I'm a bad person.

I'm really enjoying Mario Kart 8. I was since the beginning but now that the newest DLC is out and 200cc is live, I'm rocking that the most. I also got platinum status for Club Nintendo this year and chose Mario Kart 7 as my reward. I'm playing that now as well.

Also, I regularly keep up with Animal Crossing: New Leaf because that game rocks!

This is more about the single player but I wish they would remove coins in Mario Kart 8. It's the way they make the game harder without programming better AI. First gets a useless coin while other positions get useful items. I don't mind the different items per position. That's fine and MKDS executed that flawlessly. My problem is that the coin leaves the player completely defenseless. The multiplayer is loads of fun.

Now to the games I'm playing.

Bloodborne: Finished the main story. Fantastic game. Definitely a system seller for the PS4. It's a beautiful game in a weird and gruesome way. I'll have to get back to this game and do NG+ because I realized that I missed a lot on my first run. Shelved it for the time being in order to play other games.

Darksouls II Scholar of the First Sin: I didn't really play much of this when it initially came out. I've played a lot of the first one and loved it. I was definitely caught off guard with the new enemy placement. I'm enjoying it even with the difficulty cranked up since the original release last year. I've been playing two handed thrust with high endurance. I run circles around big enemies with that fast role. I wish this game had an offline mode. I was invaded three times in the Belfry Luna... While hollow. I didn't think that was even possible. Forced PvP in a PvE-centric game is just bad game design.

Destiny: Friend of mine made me pick this up recently. It's pretty fun from what I have played. I don't see the point of having to turn in bounties at the Tower. I feel like they could auto reward at the end of the mission.

I disagree. I think the coins are great. I mean, they are far more useful than in Super Mario Kart and they create a bit of risk vs. reward. Do you stick the the racing line or do you adjust and grab a coin? Can you stay in the lead without the speed boost they give you for another lap? Can you make the next turn if you go for it? I mean, it's not always that cut and dried but certainly worth it. And in the F-Zero courses, I love filling up in the pits before blasting off.

Point 4 lays out the problem I have with it. Its intent is for balancing which I can understand in order to make the game interesting. The problem is that the system puts skilled players at a huge disadvantage while it gives poor players a massive advantage. It rewards bad driving so much that it makes staying in first a terrible strategy. The game becomes less about the race and more about manipulating a RNG. In multiplayer it isn't that bad because the average player isn't thinking about it. The single player difficulty is designed around that manipulation.

Played some Terraria recently, it's kind of infuriating though. Everything is so small and imprecise. I haven't touched games in a while it's sad. Just a bit of Smash Bros. here and there when I find the time.

Also addicted to Puzzle and Dragons on my phone, so there is that.

I watched your playthrough. Looked fun, but I think I don't need to play it since I watched you get through it all.
To me it's a one play through kind of game, I dunno.

I think I'm with you DeadWolf on the coins as an item. I like them on the track, but getting them as an item has never actually benefitted me.

I just realized I haven't tried any of the courses from the second DLC, I should get on that.

Anyone play Axiom Verge? It's heavily inspired by Super Metroid and probably just as good.
